WUFT (TV)

WUFT channel 5 is a Public Broadcasting Service (PBS) member Public television station owned by the University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida. WUFT first signed on the air November 10, 1958; the Gainesville television market is unique in that a public television station is the market's oldest television station. (Gainesville's first commercial television station, WCJB-TV, did not sign on until the 1970s.

F. W. Buchholz High School (commonly referred to as Buchholz or BHS) is a high school in Gainesville, Florida. Buchholz (pronounced BYOO-holts) is one of seven high schools in Alachua County. Opened in January 1971, it is the largest public high school in Gainesville. In 2012, it had an enrollment of 3,230 students, with 103 classroom teachers. Santa Fe College Teaching Zoo

The Santa Fe College Teaching Zoo is a 10-acre zoo in Gainesville, Florida. As part of Santa Fe College, It is the only zookeeper training facility in the United States with its own AZA-accredited zoo on grounds, and has been accredited since 2000. Guided tours led by zookeepers and students are available at the teaching zoo for a fee.

WRUF-LD is the callsign of a low-power television station that operates from the University of Florida's main campus in Gainesville, broadcasting on VHF channel 5, the former analog channel of sister station WUFT. Through the use of PSIP, WRUF maps to virtual channel 10 (reflecting its former analog channel). The station is carried by Cox Communications in Gainesville on channel 6; this is reflected in its logo.
