WRUF (AM)

WRUF is a radio station that operates from the University of Florida's main campus in Gainesville, broadcasting at 850 kHz. WRUF is a news/talk/sports station. Unlike its Public sister stations, WUFT-TV and WUFT-FM, WRUF is a commercial station and, despite being state-run, is run no differently than privately owned commercial stations. The station signed on in October 1928 and is the fifth-oldest station in the state.

Samuel P. Harn Museum of Art

The Samuel P. Harn Museum of Art is an art museum at the University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida. It is in the UF Cultural Plaza area in the southwest part of campus. One of the largest university art museums in the Southeast, the Harn has more than 6200 works in its permanent collection and an array of temporary exhibitions. The museum's permanent collections are focused on Asian, African, modern and contemporary art, as well as photography.

Curtis M. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts

Baughman Center

The Baughman Center consists of two buildings located along Lake Alice on the University of Florida campus. The main building is a 1,500-square-foot nondenominational chapel or pavilion, while the other one is a 1,000-square-foot administrative building. Hume Hall

Hume Hall, built in 2002, is the Honors Residential College of the University of Florida, located on the eastern side of the university's Gainesville, Florida campus. The current structure is the second at the university to bear the name. The original Hume Hall was built on the same site in 1958 as a conventional dormitory and was demolished in 2000 to allow for construction of the current facility. The University of Florida Honors Program offers housing for freshmen at Hume Hall.

Butler Plaza

Butler Plaza is a large retail complex located in southwest Gainesville, Florida. It is the largest power center in Florida and among the largest in the southeast United States. Built on the site of Stengel Airport, which closed in 1971, the shopping center currently consists of three major sections, East, Central, and West, with plans to build a northern section that will double its size. The complex is named for the late Clark Butler, who developed the area in the 1990s.
