WRUF (AM)
WRUF is a radio station that operates from the University of Florida's main campus in Gainesville, broadcasting at 850 kHz. WRUF is a news/talk/sports station. Unlike its Public sister stations, WUFT-TV and WUFT-FM, WRUF is a commercial station and, despite being state-run, is run no differently than privately owned commercial stations. The station signed on in October 1928 and is the fifth-oldest station in the state.

Butler Plaza
Butler Plaza is a large retail complex located in southwest Gainesville, Florida. It is the largest power center in Florida and among the largest in the southeast United States. Built on the site of Stengel Airport, which closed in 1971, the shopping center currently consists of three major sections, East, Central, and West, with plans to build a northern section that will double its size. The complex is named for the late Clark Butler, who developed the area in the 1990s.
