The Baughman Center consists of two buildings located along Lake Alice on the University of Florida campus. Hume Hall
Hume Hall, built in 2002, is the Honors Residential College of the University of Florida, located on the eastern side of the university's Gainesville, Florida campus. The current structure is the second at the university to bear the name. The original Hume Hall was built on the same site in 1958 as a conventional dormitory and was demolished in 2000 to allow for construction of the current facility. The University of Florida Honors Program offers housing for freshmen at Hume Hall.
Butler Plaza
Butler Plaza is a large retail complex located in southwest Gainesville, Florida. It is the largest power center in Florida and among the largest in the southeast United States. Built on the site of Stengel Airport, which closed in 1971, the shopping center currently consists of three major sections, East, Central, and West, with plans to build a northern section that will double its size. The complex is named for the late Clark Butler, who developed the area in the 1990s.
