International Spy Museum
The International Spy Museum is a privately owned museum dedicated to the field of espionage located within the 1875 Le Droit Building in the Penn Quarter neighborhood of Washington, D.C. , across the street from the Old Patent Office Building and one block south of the Gallery Place Metro station. The museum was built by Milton Maltz & the House on F Street, L.L.C. at a cost of approximately $40 million. It is one of the few museums in Washington that charges admission fees.
Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority

Walter E. Washington Convention Center

Penn Quarter
Penn Quarter is a neighborhood in the East End of Downtown Washington, D.C. north of Pennsylvania Avenue, NW. Its boundaries are not well established, but they appear to extend along F Street NW from 5th to 10th Streets, and approximately H Street on the north where Penn Quarter abuts or partially overlaps with Chinatown. Penn Quarter is southeast of the Metro Center shopping district.
Harman Center for the Arts
The Harman Center for the Arts is a complex consisting of the Lansburgh Theatre and Sidney Harman Hall (SHH; at Sixth and F Streets NW) in downtown Washington, D.C. , USA. SHH is the latest addition to the existing Lansburgh Theatre to create the new "Center For the Arts". Construction began in November 2004 and it opened on September 15, 2007. Jack Diamond designed the theatre and Paul Beckmann of the DC firm Smithgroup designed the building that houses the theatre at a cost of $89 million.

National Museum of Crime & Punishment
The Crime Museum is a privately owned museum dedicated to the history of criminology and penology in the United States. It is found in the Penn Quarter neighborhood of Washington, D.C. , half a block south of the Gallery Place station. The museum was opened in May 2008 and was built by Orlando businessman John Morgan in partnership with John Walsh, host of America's Most Wanted, at a cost of US$ 21 million. Unlike most museums in Washington, DC, the Crime Museum is a for-profit enterprise.

1877 U.S. Patent Office fire
The Patent Office fire of 1877 was the second of several disastrous fires in the history of the U.S. Patent Office. It occurred in the Old Patent Office Building in Washington, D.C. , on 27 September 1877. Although the building was constructed to be fireproof, many of its contents were not; some 80,000 models and some 600,000 copy drawings were destroyed. No patents were completely lost, however, and the Patent Office soon reopened.
