Hockanum River
The Hockanum River is a river in Connecticut. The Hockanum neighborhood in East Hartford is named after it. It rises at the outlet of Shenipsit Lake in Rockville, then flows through Vernon, Ellington, Manchester, and East Hartford. Its mouth on the Connecticut River is immediately north of the Charter Oak Bridge and south of and across from the mouth of the Park River. The Hockanum River runs for about 22.6 miles until it spills into the Connecticut River.

Manchester Memorial Hospital
Manchester Memorial Hospital is an acute care hospital located in central Manchester, Connecticut, an eastern Connecticut community about 10 minutes east of Hartford. The hospital opened in 1920 and was dedicated as a memorial to all Manchester residents who died during the First World War. In 1970, the hospital was rededicated as a memorial to veterans of all wars. MMH is a 249-bed facility.
