Thames River (Connecticut)
The Thames River is a short river and tidal estuary in the U.S. state of Connecticut. It flows south for 15 miles through eastern Connecticut from the junction of the Yantic and Shetucket rivers at Norwich, to New London and Groton, which flank its mouth at Long Island Sound. The Thames River watershed includes a number of smaller basins and the 80-mile-long Quinebaug River, which rises in southern Massachusetts and joins the Shetucket River about 4 miles northeast of Norwich.

Shennecossett Golf Course
Shennecossett Golf Course is a municipal 18 hole golf course located in the city of Groton, Connecticut. It was founded in 1898 as a four-hole layout and over the next 18 years it was enlarged to a six, nine, eleven and eventually an eighteen-hole course. In 1916 golf course architect Donald Ross redesigned the course layout and in 1919 completed his work. The course remained this way until 1997.
