New London County, Connecticut
New London County is a county located in the southeastern corner of the U.S. state of Connecticut bordering Long Island Sound. As of 2010 the population was 274,055. The total area of the county is 772 square miles, including inland and coastal waters. As is the case with all eight of Connecticut's counties, there is no county government and no county seat. In Connecticut, Towns are responsible for all local government activities, including fire and rescue, snow removal and schools.

The Mohegan Sun Arena is a 10,000 seat multi-purpose arena in Uncasville, Connecticut located inside Mohegan Sun. The arena facility features 30,000 square feet of configurable exhibition space and a 400-foot clear span. It was built by the Perini Building Company, and opened in October 2001.
Gales Ferry, Connecticut
Gales Ferry is a village in the town of Ledyard, Connecticut, United States. It is located along the eastern bank of the Thames River. The village developed as a result of having a ferry to Uncasville located at this site, and from which the village was named. Gales Ferry was listed as a census-designated place for the 2010 Census, with a population of 1,162.
Allyn's Point
Allyn's Point is a location on the Thames River in Ledyard, Connecticut, United States. It was the southern terminal of the Norwich and Worcester Railroad from 1843 to 1899, and briefly hosted a steamboat connection with the Long Island Rail Road. The Thames River frequently froze on its northern end, preventing steamboats from accessing the port at Norwich. To solve this problem, the railroad extended their line six miles to Allyn's Point, where freezing is less common, in 1843.
Mohegan people
The Mohegan Indian Tribe is a federally recognized tribe living on a reservation in the eastern upper Thames River valley of south-central Connecticut. It is one of two federally recognized tribes in the state, which also has three state-recognized tribes. At the time of European contact, the Mohegan and Pequot were a unified tribal entity living in the lower Connecticut region, but the Mohegan gradually became independent.

Fort Shantok
Fort Shantok, in Montville, Connecticut, was the site of the principal Mohegan settlement between 1636 to 1682 and the sacred ground of Uncas, one the most prominent and influential Mohegan leader and statesman of his era. Originally part of Mohegan reservation lands, the property was taken by the state of Connecticut in the 20th century and Fort Shantok State Park was established. In 1995, following legal action by the tribe to recover its lands, the state returned the park to Mohegan control.
