Hamilton Park (New Haven)

Hamilton Park, also known as Brewster Park and Howard Avenue Grounds, was a sports venue in New Haven, Connecticut, located at the intersection of Whalley Avenue and West Park Avenue. Hamilton Park hosted Yale University sports competitions in the 19th century. It was the first home field for Yale's football team, used from 1870 until Yale Field was acquired in the 1880s.

Yale golf course

The Yale Golf Course, owned and operated in New Haven near the West Haven border by Yale University, is a fine example of early American golf course design, with large, deeply bunkered greens and narrow rolling fairways challenging the golfer. In 1988, Golf Magazine ranked Yale as the 71st most difficult course in the world. The 2013 Golfweek's Best Classic Courses list ranked Yale at #35 on the list. In 2011, Golf Magazine name Yale Golf Course #71 on its Top 100 Courses in the United States.

West Rock Ridge State Park

West Rock Ridge State Park is a state park located in New Haven, Hamden, and Woodbridge, Connecticut. It is named for the 400-to-700-foot (to m) trap rock West Rock Ridge, which is part of the Metacomet Ridge extending from Long Island Sound to the Vermont border. The ridge consists largely of diabase, much like its sister formation East Rock.

Edgewood Magnet School

West Rock (neighborhood)

West Rock is an official neighborhood of the city of New Haven, Connecticut. It includes part of West Rock Ridge State Park and the campus of Southern Connecticut State University. The north end of the official neighborhood contains the Brookside neighborhood. Almost the entire neighborhood is made up of public housing projects, many of which have been recently demolished and are being rebuilt under the Federal HOPE VI program.

Heroes Tunnel

Heroes Tunnel (formerly West Rock Tunnel) is a 1,200-foot-long, twin-tube tunnel carrying Route 15 through West Rock Ridge in New Haven, Connecticut. Opened in 1949, it was said to be the only vehicular tunnel "to pass beneath a land feature" in Connecticut and all of New England. However, there is another vehicular tunnel in Vernon, Connecticut passing under a man-made land feature.
