West Haven (Metro-North station)
West Haven is a future railroad station on Metro-North Railroad's New Haven Line in West Haven, Connecticut. The station is being built on Sawmill Road between Hood Terrace and Railroad Avenue. Plans include 660 parking spaces, with the possibility of 300-400 more in a parking garage in a refurbished industrial building north of the station if warranted by future demand. Along with the station complex there are intentions to build an adjacent residential development of 325 units.
Oyster River (Connecticut)
The Oyster River is a 4.1-mile-long stream located in the state of Connecticut in New Haven County. It flows south through Orange and forms the boundary of West Haven and Orange and further downstream the boundary of West Haven and Milford. It empties into Long Island Sound, just south of Route 162 at Oyster River Point. Swans, box turtles and many other animals call this area home. In colonial times the area was also known as Clarke’s Point.
