Hamden Middle School
Hamden Middle School is a two-year middle school for grades 7 and 8, located at 2623 Dixwell Ave. in Hamden, Connecticut. It is the only public middle school within the Hamden Public School District. It was the 1998-99 Connecticut School of the Year. The current principal is Daniel Levy. The assistant principals are Jessica Coffey, Grade 8 and Rhonda Jackson, Grade 7 .

It was founded and operated by the Missionary Zelatrices of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, an Italian religious institute founded in 1894 now known as the Apostles of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. It was designed as a sisters' college, or a college primarily designed to educate nuns.

North Haven/Hamden (CDOT station)
North Haven/Hamden Station is a proposed station in North Haven, Connecticut on the New Haven-Hartford-Springfield Commuter Rail Line. It is proposed by the Connecticut Department of Transportation as one of three new stations that would be built for the line. Although funds for double-tracking the line and adding commuter frequencies have been found, the three stations are not currently funded. The station would serve the towns of North Haven to the east and Hamden to the west.

Congregation Mishkan Israel, in Hamden, Connecticut, founded in 1840 and incorporated in 1843, the year the Connecticut legislature first permitted non-Christian organizations to incorporate in the state, is one of the two oldest Jewish congregations in Connecticut. The congregation was established by Jews from Bavaria. It became a Reform synagogue as early as 1856.
