Windsor Locks (Amtrak station)
Windsor Locks is a train station in Windsor Locks, Connecticut located on the New Haven-Springfield Line. It is the northernmost Amtrak station in the State of Connecticut. It is merely a sheltered plexiglas platform. The Connecticut Department of Transportation has proposed that the planned new commuter service called the New Haven-Hartford-Springfield Commuter Rail Line stop there. The former Windsor Locks Passenger Station is a mile north of the current modern station.
Bradley Airport Connector
The Bradley Airport Connector (also the Bradley Field Connector) is a 4.6-mile expressway built to connect Bradley International Airport to Interstate 91 in Windsor, Connecticut. It begins at Exit 40 of I-91 and heads west as Route 20 roughly along the town line between Windsor and Windsor Locks. The expressway then turns north, leaving Route 20 and becoming an unsigned state road (with designation Special Service Road 401) ending at the airport terminals.
Hartford & New Haven Railroad-Freight Depot
The Hartford & New Haven Railroad Freight Depot building is located at the end of Central Street in Downtown Windsor, Connecticut, across the street from the equally historic Hartford & New Haven Railroad Depot, which now serves as an Amtrak station. It is now used as the home of the Windsor Arts Center, a non-profit place that exhibits the work of visual and performing artists.
Loomis Homestead
The Loomis Homestead in Windsor, Connecticut, is one of the oldest timber-frame houses in America. The oldest part of the house was built in 1640 by Joseph Loomis who came to America from England in 1638. Later additions to the Loomis house were made around the turn of the eighteenth century. The house is now adjacent to the Loomis Chaffee school.
