Kensington is a census-designated place (CDP) and section of the town of Berlin in Hartford County, Connecticut, United States. The Berlin town offices are located in Kensington. The population was 8,459 at the 2010 census. The Henry Hooker House is a historic home in Kensington.
Central Connecticut State University
Central Connecticut State University is a regional, comprehensive public university in New Britain, Connecticut. Founded in 1849 to train teachers, CCSU has expanded over time to become a four-year degree granting institution (in 1934). Its borders now stretch to the western edge of Newington where State Routes 9 and 175 intersect.
Charter Oak State College
Charter Oak State College is a public liberal arts college in New Britain, Connecticut and is named for Connecticut's famous Charter Oak. The college is located across Paul Manafort Drive from Central Connecticut State University. New Britain Stadium is a baseball venue in New Britain, Connecticut, United States. It is the home of the minor league New Britain Rock Cats, the AA affiliate of the Minnesota Twins Major League Baseball team. Opened in 1996, the stadium seats 6,146 spectators. The stadium is part of the city facility known as Willow Brook Park and is sometimes referred to by this name also. It is adjacent to Beehive Field, where the team played for 13 seasons after moving from Bristol in 1983.

William H. Detrick Gymnasium

It is primarily used for baseball and was the home of the New Britain Red Sox (Boston Red Sox AA affiliate) from the time of their move to the city in 1983 until the parent club moved the affiliate to Trenton, New Jersey for the 1995 season. Beehive Field was also the home of the New Britain Rock Cats (Minnesota Twins AA affiliate) for the 1995 season, before the opening of New Britain Stadium (next door) in 1996.

The New Britain Museum of American Art is an art museum in New Britain, Connecticut. Founded in 1903, it is the first museum in the country dedicated to American art. A total of 72,000 visits were made to the museum in the year ending June 30, 2009, and another 16,000 visits were made to the museum's satellite gallery at TheatreWorks in Hartford, Connecticut. Walnut Hill Park, designed by Frederick Law Olmstead, is next to the museum.

National Iwo Jima Memorial
The US National Iwo Jima Memorial is located on Ella Grasso Boulevard, near the New Britain/Newington town line in Connecticut. It was erected by the Iwo Jima Survivors Association, Inc. of Newington, Connecticut. It was dedicated on February 23, 1995 on the 50th anniversary of the historic flag raising on Iwo Jima. It is dedicated to the memory of the 6,821 US servicemen who gave their lives at Iwo Jima.
