Stanford is a census-designated place (CDP) in Santa Clara County, California, United States and is the home of Stanford University. The population was 13,809 at the 2010 census, with a daily population of 35,000. Stanford is an unincorporated area of Santa Clara County and is adjacent to the city of Palo Alto. Stanford Stadium
Stanford Stadium (capacity 50,000 as of 2006) is an outdoor athletic stadium on the Stanford University campus. It is the home of the Stanford Cardinal college football team. It originally opened in 1921 as a football and track stadium, an earthen horseshoe with wooden bleacher seating and flooring upon a steel frame. Its original seating capacity was 60,000, which grew to 89,000 by 1927 as a nearly enclosed bowl.

Maples Pavilion
Maples Pavilion is a 7,329-seat multi-purpose arena in Stanford, California built in 1969. Maples underwent a $30 million renovation in March 2004, which wrapped up in time for conference play in December of that year. It was named after its principal donor, Roscoe Maples, a member of the 1904 Stanford class. It is home to multiple Stanford Cardinal athletics teams, including men's and women's basketball and women's volleyball. Prior to this, Stanford played at Old Pavilion.
Hoover Tower
Hoover Tower is a 285 feet structure on the campus of Stanford University in Stanford, California. The tower houses the Hoover Institution Library and Archives, an archive collection founded by Herbert Hoover before he became President of the United States. Hoover had amassed a large collection of materials related to early 20th century history; he donated them to Stanford, his alma mater, to found a "library of war, revolution and peace".
Klein Field at Sunken Diamond
Klein Field at Sunken Diamond is a college baseball stadium in Stanford, California, on the campus of Stanford University. It is the home field of the Stanford Cardinal of the Pacific-12 Conference. The stadium was built in 1931 and has a seating capacity of 4,000. When the adjacent football stadium was originally built in 1921, dirt was excavated from the site of the future baseball stadium, which created a "sunken" field a decade later.

Stanford Clock Tower
The Stanford Clock Tower with its attached, colonnaded pergola is located at the so-called “Circle of Death” at the corner of Escondido and Lasuen Malls on the campus of Stanford University. It was built in 1983 by a donation from trustee William Kimball. It holds the mechanical clock, built in 1901 by the Seth Thomas Clock Company, which was originally housed in Stanford Memorial Church’s large belfry.
Haas Center for Public Service
The Haas Center for Public Service, formerly the Stanford Public Service Center, is the public service center on the campus of Stanford University in Stanford, California. The Haas Center houses many student organizations and projects, including the Stanford Volunteer Network, Stanford in Government and the Ravenswood-Stanford Tutoring Program. Haas Center programs place more than 2,000 students annually in community service projects.
J. Henry Meyer Memorial Library
The J. Henry Meyer Memorial Library is one of several libraries at Stanford University in California. It is also known as the Undergraduate Library. The library was dedicated on December 2, 1966. The building has been determined to be seismically unsafe and is slated for demolition in 2015. Designed by architect and Stanford alumnus John Carl Warnecke, Meyer Library's arcades feature high columns and vaulted ceilings.
Toyon Hall
Toyon Hall is an all-sophomore dormitory at Stanford University. Its Romanesque and Mediterranean Revival Style residence halls originally housed 150 men, but today Toyon is a co-ed dorm housing 158 residents. Each of its three floors is co-ed, and most rooms are two-room doubles, although until recently most rooms were triples. The hall has been "unstuffed" as a part of Stanford's master housing plan.
Braun Music Center
Braun Music Center serves as the link between the student residential area and the main activities center of Stanford University. The main building for the Department of Music, Braun is the venue for the department's concerts and recitals and offers rehearsal studios and practice facilities as well as classrooms and offices. Department of Music events are held in Braun's Campbell Recital Hall and Dinkelspiel Auditorium.
Stanford Memorial Auditorium
Memorial Hall (usually called Memorial Auditorium, or MemAud by current students), dedicated in 1937, commemorates those students and faculty from Stanford who died in World War I. Designed by Arthur Brown, Jr. in conjunction with Bakewell and Weihe, construction of the building was funded primarily through student contributions.
Stanford Sweet Hall
Designed by Spencer Associates in 1986 and funded by a donation from Elaine Sweet, Sweet Hall is a four-story building at Stanford University designed to consolidate undergraduate services, Stanford Overseas Studies, and the Undergraduate Advising and Research Center. The basement of Sweet Hall consists of an ITS Server Room, PWR Lecturers, and NSO (New Student Orientation).
Stanford (Caltrain station)
Stanford Station is a Caltrain station in Palo Alto, California, next to the stadium on the Stanford University campus. It is only used on football game days and lacks both ticket vending machines and Clipper card readers. For service on non-game days, the campus can still be accessed from Palo Alto Station with the help of the Marguerite Shuttle.
California Avenue (Caltrain station)
California Avenue station is a Caltrain station at milepost 31.7 in Palo Alto, California. It stops at the historical town center of Mayfield, which was annexed by the town of Palo Alto in 1925. The current structure was built in 1983 at the same time as the nearby Palo Alto Central condominium complex, replacing a shelter a few hundred feet to the south.
Taube Tennis Center
The Taube Tennis Center is a tennis facility located on the campus of Stanford University near Palo Alto, California. In addition to hosting the Stanford Cardinal's men's and women's tennis teams, the 17-court facility is the home of the Bank of the West Classic, a WTA Tour event. The stadium court, Taube Family Tennis Stadium, has a capacity of 2,445 spectators.
Frost Amphitheater
The Laurence Frost Amphitheater, commonly known as Frost Amphitheater is a prominent amphitheater of Stanford University. It first opened in 1937 and was the site of commencement ceremonies for the university from 1938 until 1984. It can hold about 6,900 people.

Burnham Pavilion (Stanford University)
Burnham Pavilion is a multi-purpose arena in Stanford, California. It was built in 1921 and 1922 at a cost of $153,000 by Bakewell and Brown and originally named the "Stanford Pavilion". It was home to the Stanford University Cardinal basketball team prior to Maples Pavilion opening in 1968. When it opened, it was the largest arena used exclusively for basketball. In 1953, it hosted some games for the 1953 NCAA Men's Division I Basketball Tournament.
Rancho Rincon de San Francisquito
Rancho Rincon de San Francisquito was a 8,418-acre Mexican land grant in present day Santa Clara County, California given in 1841 by Governor Juan Alvarado to José Peña. The name means "corner or bend of the San Francisquito" referring to San Francisquito Creek. The grant extended along Matadero Creek to the hills and included the southern part of present day Palo Alto and the southern part of the Stanford University campus.

Bing Concert Hall
Bing Concert Hall is a concert hall at Stanford University. It cost $111.9 million to build, and it opened in January 2013. The hall has 842 seats, arranged in a "vineyard" format, surrounding the stage. All the seats are within 75 feet of the conductor, and the seats in the center section begin at the stage level. The hall is named after Peter and Helen Bing, notable donors to Stanford who donated the lead gift of 50$ million towards its construction.
