Poor People's Radio was conceived of and named by a radio engineer, Meyer Gottesman. Meyer determined that the frequency was available and applied for a construction permit from the FCC. Pacific-Union Club
The Pacific-Union Club is a private social club located at 1000 California Street in San Francisco, California, at the top of Nob Hill. It was founded in 1889 as a merger of two earlier clubs: the Pacific Club (founded 1852) and the Union Club (founded 1854). The clubhouse was built as the home for the silver magnate James Clair Flood. The former Flood Mansion is located in the Nob Hill neighborhood. It was designed by Willis Polk.
Macondray Lane
Macondray Lane is a small pedestrian lane on the south-eastern side of Russian Hill in San Francisco, California. A wooded enclave in the heart of the city, it was recast by Armistead Maupin as Barbary Lane for his Tales of the City. Macondray Lane extends two blocks east-west between Leavenworth and Taylor streets, paralleling Union and Green streets. At the Taylor Street end, a set of steps descend from the lane to Taylor Street.

The Fairmont San Francisco is a luxury hotel at 950 Mason Street, atop Nob Hill in San Francisco, California. The hotel was named after mining magnate and U.S. Senator James Graham Fair (1831-1894), by his daughters Theresa Fair Oelrichs and Virginia Fair Vanderbilt who built the hotel in his honor. The hotel was the vanguard of the Fairmont Hotels and Resorts chain. The group is now owned by Fairmont Raffles Hotels International, but all the original Fairmont hotels still keep their names.

James C. Flood Mansion
James C. Flood Mansion, also known as Pacific-Union Club, in San Francisco, California, USA, was a townhouse for James C. Flood, a 19th century silver baron. It was the first brownstone building west of the Mississippi River, and the stone was shipped around Cape Horn from the same quarry in Portland, CT, that was the source for all the brownstone in New York City. With The Fairmont Hotel, the only buildings on Nob Hill to structurally survive the 1906 San Francisco earthquake and fire.
Broadway Tunnel (San Francisco)
The Broadway Tunnel (officially the Robert C. Levy Tunnel) is a roadway tunnel in San Francisco, California. The tunnel opened in 1952, and serves as a high-capacity conduit for traffic between Chinatown and North Beach to the east and Russian Hill and Van Ness to the west. In a proposal of the city's 1948 Transportation Plan, the tunnel was to serve as a link between the Embarcadero Freeway and the Central Freeway. The east portal is located just past the Mason Street overpass.

Nob Hill Masonic Center
Nob Hill Masonic Center of San Francisco (also known as the Masonic Temple or Masonic Auditorium) is a public venue at 1111 California Street in San Francisco, California. The venue was formally dedicated on 29 September 1958. It has a several large sculptures representing the four branches of the Armed Services on its outside wall. There is a frieze representing a gigantic tug of war between good and evil forces. Inside, it has a unique mosaic window designed by artist Emile Norman.
Polk Street
Polk Street is a street in San Francisco, California, that travels northward from Market Street to Beach Street and is one of the main thoroughfares of the Polk Gulch neighborhood traversing through the Tenderloin, Nob Hill, and Russian Hill neighborhoods. The street takes its name from former U.S. President James K. Polk. The street remains a busy business district with many restaurants, cafes, home decorating and hardware stores.
Mantra-Rock Dance
Mantra-Rock Dance was a musical countercultural event held on January 29, 1967, at the Avalon Ballroom in San Francisco. It was organized by followers of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) as an opportunity for its founder, A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, to address a wider public, and as a promotional and fundraising effort for their first center on the West Coast of the United States.
