Oceanside is a coastal city located on California's South Coast. It is the third-largest city in San Diego County, California. The city had a population of 183,095 at the 2010 census. Together with Carlsbad and Vista, it forms a tri-city area. Oceanside is located just south of Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton.

Terramar is located in Carlsbad, California. It is a small oceanfront neighborhood community developed by William Cannon in the 1950s. It has its own Association called the Terramar Association, with a set of rules. The Terramar Association has a quarterly newsletter called the Terramar Tides. Agua Hedionda Lagoon

Stewardship of much of the lagoon is held by the Encina Power Station and its owner NRG Energy. In November 2000 the Agua Hedionda Lagoon was designated as a critical habitat for the tidewater goby.
Georgina Cole Library
The Georgina Cole Library, located in Carlsbad, California, originally opened in November 1967, and reopened on April 15, 2000, after a half-year restoration project. It is a full service library named after Georgina Cole, the city's first library director. The Cole Library is a branch of the Carlsbad City Library. Legoland California is a theme park and miniature park located in Carlsbad, California, based around the Lego toy brand. On March 20, 1999, it became the third Legoland park to open, and the first Legoland outside of Europe. The park is owned by Merlin Entertainments, the largest theme park firm in Europe, and second largest in the world after Walt Disney Parks and Resorts. Merlin acquired the properties in 2004, and a controlling interest in 2005.
Rancho Agua Hedionda
Rancho Agua Hedionda was a 13,311-acre Mexican land grant in present day San Diego County, California given in 1842 by Governor Juan Alvarado to Juan María Marrón. The name means "stinking water" in Spanish. The grant extended south along the Pacific Coast from present day Carlsbad to Leucadia. The grant surrounded Agua Hedionda Lagoon.
