Bixby Creek Bridge
Bixby Creek Bridge, also known as Bixby Bridge, is a reinforced concrete open-spandrel arch bridge in Big Sur, California. The bridge is located 120 miles south of San Francisco and 13 miles south of Carmel in Monterey County along California Highway One. Prior to the opening of the bridge in 1932, residents of the Big Sur area were virtually cut off during winter due to the often impassable Old Coast Road that led 11 miles inland.
Rocky Creek Bridge (California)
Rocky Creek Bridge is a reinforced concrete open-spandrel arch bridge in California, built in 1932. It is located in Monterey County a few miles south of Carmel-by-the-Sea and just north of the more famous Bixby Creek Bridge on the Pacific Coast Highway. As its name implies, it spans the Rocky Creek. A turnout with limited parking space exists to the northwest of the bridge, for tourist use.
