San Fernando Valley

The San Fernando Valley (locally known as "The Valley") is an urbanized valley located in the Los Angeles metropolitan area of southern California, United States, defined by the mountains of the Transverse Ranges circling it. Home to 1.76 million people, it lies north of the larger and more populous Los Angeles Basin. Nearly two thirds of the Valley's land area is part of the City of Los Angeles.

North Hills is a community in the San Fernando Valley of the city of Los Angeles, California. North Hills is one of the oldest communities in the Valley and was originally known as Mission Acres. After World War II, developers renamed the area Sepulveda. Northridge is to the west, Panorama City is to the east, Van Nuys is to the south, and Granada Hills to the north.

Van Nuys (train station)

The Van Nuys Amtrak/Metrolink Station is an Amtrak and Metrolink rail station in the community of Van Nuys in Los Angeles, California. The station is served by Amtrak's Pacific Surfliner from San Luis Obispo to San Diego, Amtrak's Coast Starlight from Los Angeles Union Station to Seattle, Washington, and Metrolink's Ventura County Line from Los Angeles Union Station to East Ventura. Ten Pacific Surfliner trains serve the station daily and 20 Metrolink trains serve the station each weekday.

Charter High School of the Arts

Charter High School of the Arts Multimedia and Performing (or CHAMPS) is a public high school that operates on the campus of the First Lutheran Church of Van Nuys and in the nearby Phoenix office building. The campuses are located at 6952 and 6842 Van Nuys Boulevard, in Van Nuys, Los Angeles, California, USA. Though it shares the church campus with a Lutheran church, the activities are different. It is operated as a Charter High School. Dr. Norman Isaacs began CHAMPS high school in 2005.

Sound City Studios

Sound City Studios was a recording studio incorporated in 1969, located in Van Nuys, Los Angeles, California. The facility had previously been a showroom and recording studio of the British company, Vox. Sound City contributed its signature analog sound to more than 100 certified gold and platinum albums. The studio was privately held from 1970, until it closed its commercial studio services in May 2011. It is now reserved for the exclusive use of its tenants.

Rancho Ex-Mission San Fernando

Rancho Ex-Mission San Fernando was a 116,858-acre Mexican land grant in present day Los Angeles County, California granted in 1846 by Governor Pío Pico to Eulogio de Celis. The grant derives its name from the secularized Mission San Fernando Rey de España, but was called ex-Mission because of a division made of the lands held in the name of the Mission — the church retaining the grounds immediately around, and all of the lands outside of this were called ex-Mission lands.

Mission Acres, California

Mission Acres was an historic rural community abutting the original ranch of Andres Pico and was an important stop along the later and historic old Red Line long excursion from the city of Los Angeles to the ranches and orchards of the northwest San Fernando Valley, RFD. Shaded by Live Oaks, White-Blossoming Ash Trees, and Sagebrush, major products were citrus, eggs, Whiteface Cattle, quail, truck produce, and gladioli.
