Hume Lake
Hume Lake is an artificial lake in the Sequoia National Forest of Fresno County, California, adjacent to the unincorporated community of Hume. It is on Tenmile Creek, which flows into the Kings River. The surface elevation of the lake is 1,585 m . It is accessible from California Route 180, via Forest Service road 30, and is about 50 mi east of Fresno, not far from the west entrance to Kings Canyon National Park.
Boole (tree)
The Boole Tree is a giant sequoia in Converse Basin grove in Sequoia National Forest, in the edge of Kings Canyon, 5 miles (8 km) from General Grant Grove in Kings Canyon National Park in the Sierra Nevada in eastern California. Converse Basin used to be a large grove, but was logged of most of its giant sequoias between 1892 and 1918. Now only perhaps 60–100 large specimens survive out of thousands. This grove is the second largest contiguous grove in the world.

Hume is located in the 93628 ZIP Code, in area code 559. Hume is situated in the Sequoia National Forest not far from the west entrance to Kings Canyon National Park. Much of the community and the lake is devoted to the tourism industry. A post office operated at Hume from 1908 to 1924, and from 1938 to the present.
