Hayward (Amtrak station)
The Hayward Amtrak station is a train station in Hayward, California, United States served by Amtrak, the national railroad passenger system. Currently the only route that stops at this station is Amtrak California's Capitol Corridor; the Coast Starlight (trains 11 and 14) passes this station but does not stop. Service at Hayward began on May 29, 1997.

Rancho San Lorenzo (Castro)

Schafer Park, California
Schafer Park, California was an unincorporated suburban community absorbed into Hayward, California, at the same time as the acquisition of Mount Eden. It was named for A.W. Schafer, a German immigrant who purchased land in the area in the 1860s. The family sold its land to a real estate developer in the 1950s. Schafer Park was located between Hayward and Mount Eden.
Centennial Hall Convention Center
The Centennial Hall Convention Center was a former gymnasium and convention center located in downtown Hayward, in the City Center complex with the former Centennial Tower. It closed as a convention center on November 1, 2009, and was demolished shortly afterward.
1868 Hayward earthquake
The 1868 Hayward earthquake was the last large earthquake to occur on the Hayward Fault Zone in the San Francisco Bay Area, California, United States. It caused significant damage throughout the region, and was known as the "Great San Francisco Earthquake" prior to the 1906 San Francisco earthquake and fire. The earthquake occurred at 7:53 a.m. on October 21, 1868.
Sorenson, California
Sorenson is an unincorporated community in Alameda County, California. It is located on the Western Pacific Railroad 2 miles south-southeast of Hayward, at an elevation of 79 feet (24 m). The name is in honor of Harold Sorensen, landowner who came to Hayward in 1881.

Memorial Park, in Hayward, California is a public park managed by the Hayward Area Recreation and Park District. The park contains an indoor swim center, the Hayward Plunge, and is the access point to the Greenbelt Trails, which follow Ward Creek Canyon adjacent to California State University, East Bay. The park has a small bandstand, with musical events offered on major holidays. It borders on Mount Saint Joseph Cemetery.
