Castro Valley (BART station)
Castro Valley is a Bay Area Rapid Transit station serving Castro Valley, California. The station consists of an island platform located in the center median of Interstate 580, with the concourse mezzanine located underneath the freeway's westbound lanes. The station was built as part of Bay Area Rapid Transit's Dublin/Pleasanton extension, and service began on May 10, 1997.

Castro Valley High School is a comprehensive public high school for grades 9 to 12 and is located in the unincorporated suburban community of Castro Valley, California, U.S. Named a National Exemplary School in 1984-85 and 1988–89, it was a California Distinguished School in 1987-88 and 2000-01. It is part of the Castro Valley Unified School District. The current student enrollment is approximately 2,960 students.
Downtown Hayward
Downtown Hayward is the original and current central business district of Hayward, California, and is home to the current Hayward City Hall, along with the two previous city halls, Alex Giualini Plaza and the City Center Building. The Hayward Fault runs through the area, and is the cause of the two previous city halls being taken out of use.
Rancho San Lorenzo (Castro)
Rancho San Lorenzo was a 26,722-acre Mexican land grant given in 1841 by Governor Juan Alvarado to Guillermo Castro a career soldier posted to the Pueblo of San José. The land grant included present day Hayward, San Lorenzo, and Castro Valley, including Crow Canyon, Cull Canyon, and Palomares Canyons.
Centennial Hall Convention Center
The Centennial Hall Convention Center was a former gymnasium and convention center located in downtown Hayward, in the City Center complex with the former Centennial Tower. It closed as a convention center on November 1, 2009, and was demolished shortly afterward.
1868 Hayward earthquake
The 1868 Hayward earthquake was the last large earthquake to occur on the Hayward Fault Zone in the San Francisco Bay Area, California, United States. It caused significant damage throughout the region, and was known as the "Great San Francisco Earthquake" prior to the 1906 San Francisco earthquake and fire. The earthquake occurred at 7:53 a.m. on October 21, 1868.
Redwood Alternative High School
Redwood High School is an alternative/continuation public high school in Castro Valley, California. It is the only alternative/continuation high school in Castro Valley and is one of only two high schools in Castro Valley, the other being Castro Valley High School. Redwood High School was remodeled from 2006 to 2008.
