Cordes Lakes, Arizona
Cordes Lakes is a census-designated place (CDP) in Yavapai County, Arizona, United States. The population was 2,058 at the 2000 census. Arcosanti is just north of Cordes Lakes, and Agua Fria National Monument is a few miles south on I-17. Cordes lakes has one man-made lake, as of 2010. Cordes Junction is located in the CDP.
Arcosanti
Arcosanti is an experimental town that began construction in 1970 in central Arizona, 70 mi north of Phoenix, at an elevation of 3,732 feet (1,130 meters). Architect Paolo Soleri, using a concept he calls arcology, started the town to demonstrate how urban conditions could be improved while minimizing the destructive impact on the earth.
