Juneau, Alaska
The City and Borough of Juneau is a unified municipality located on the Gastineau Channel in the panhandle of the U.S. state of Alaska and the 2nd largest city in the United States by area. It has been the capital of Alaska since 1906, when the government of the then-District of Alaska was moved from Sitka as dictated by the U.S. Congress in 1900.
Juneau-Douglas High School
Juneau-Douglas High School (abbreviated JDHS) is one of two high schools in Juneau, Alaska. It is the primary high school for the Juneau School District. The other high school, Thunder Mountain High School, is smaller, and most of its students are from the Mendenhall Valley. JDHS has recently undergone extensive renovations, most notably to its main hall. As of 2005, the school had an enrollment of 1,800 students. As of the 2010-2011 school year, Ryan Alsup is the interim principal.
Evergreen Cemetery (Juneau, Alaska)
Evergreen Cemetery is a cemetery in Juneau, the capital of the U.S. state of Alaska. It was established in 1887 to replace the older cemetery on Chicken Ridge, near Main Street, when that location was staked as a gold mine. Most of the graves in this older cemetery were moved to the new cemetery between 1889 and 1892 and the rest were moved about 1915. With 40 representatives, the Alaska House is the smallest state legislative lower house in the United States. The House convenes at the State Capitol in Juneau.
Emery Valentine
Emery (or Emory) Valentine (1858 – September 9, 1930) was an Alaskan politician and the sixth mayor of Juneau, Alaska, from 1908 to 1912 and from 1917 to 1919. He was also a miner, goldsmith, jeweller, assayer, gunsmith, watchmaker, architect, firefighter, and businessman.
Yaaḵoosgé Daakahídi Alternative High School
Yaaḵoosgé Daakahídi Alternative High School is a high school of the Juneau School District in the City and Borough of Juneau, Alaska, United States. The school is an opportunity for students over the age of 16 to have a less mainstream high school experience than that offered by Juneau-Douglas High School or Thunder Mountain High School. In recent years, the school has hosted nearly 100 students ages 16 and up.

KTOO (FM)
KTOO is a non-commercial educational radio station licensed to serve Juneau, Alaska, USA. The station is owned by Capital Community Broadcasting, Inc. The station airs public radio programming from the National Public Radio and CoastAlaska networks. KTOO also operates two other radio stations, KXLL Excellent Radio and KRNN. Petroglyph Beach State Historic Park
Petroglyph Beach State Historic Site is an Alaskan beach and public historical site with the highest concentration of Native American petroglyphs in the southeastern region of Alaska. Located on the shore of Wrangell, Alaska barely a mile out of town, it become a State Historic Park in 2000. At least 40 petroglyphs have been found to date. The site itself is about 8000 years old.
