Alaskan Air Command
Alaskan Air Command (AAC) is an inactive United States Air Force Major Command. Established in 1942 under the United States Army Air Forces, its mission was to organize and administer the air defense system of Alaska, exercise direct control of all active measures, and coordinate all passive means of air defense. In addition, the command also supported Strategic Air Command elements operating through and around Alaska.
Elmendorf Field
Elmendorf Field is a United States military facility in Anchorage, the largest city in Alaska. Formerly known as Elmendorf Air Force Base, in 2010 it merged with nearby Fort Richardson to form Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson.

The AN/FLR-9 is a type of very large circular "Wullenweber" antenna array, built at many locations during the cold war for HF/DF direction finding of high priority targets.
