NorthRiver Yacht Club
NorthRiver Yacht Club is a private golf club in Tuscaloosa, Alabama which officially opened in 1978. The course was originally designed by professional golfer Gary Player but was redesigned in 1997 by noted architect Bob Cupp. The course features bent grass and is set up to both challenge expert players while being forgiving to beginners still new to the game.
Old University of Alabama Observatory

Enrollment is limited to 200 undergraduate students. The current director is Jim Hall. New College was founded in 1971. The primary objective of New College was "to serve as an experimental unit with the expectation of exporting successful innovations to other sectors of the University".

Woolsey Finnell Bridge
The Woolsey Finnell Bridge is the four-lane, girder bridge spanning the Black Warrior River along U.S. 82 (McFarland Boulevard) in Tuscaloosa, Alabama that opened in 1961. The bridge takes its name from the former state director of highways for Alabama, Woolsey Finnell. This is one of only four vehicular bridges spanning the Black Warrior in Tuscaloosa.
Hugh R. Thomas Bridge
The Hugh Rowe Thomas Bridge is a six-lane, girder bridge spanning the Black Warrior River along U.S. 43 and Alabama State Route 69 connecting downtown Tuscaloosa and Northport in Tuscaloosa County, Alabama that opened in 1974. The bridge is "splitted" in Tuscaloosa to accompany two major throughfares (Lurleen Wallace Boulevard North and South), before joining together heading towards Northport. As of 2008, the average daily traffic count for the bridge is approximately 68,400 vehicles.
Lake Tuscaloosa
Lake Tuscaloosa is a reservoir in west-central Alabama, created by damming North River. It was constructed to provide water for Tuscaloosa residents and for industrial use as well. It was completed in 1970 at a cost of about $7,725,000. Since it is located just north of Tuscaloosa and Northport, the lake is also very popular for recreational activities.
Alabama Museum of Natural History
The Alabama Museum of Natural History is the state's natural history museum, located in Smith Hall at the University of Alabama campus in Tuscaloosa. The oldest museum in the state, it was founded in 1831. The exhibits depict the natural diversity of Alabama from the Age of Dinosaurs, the Coal Age, and the Ice Age. Collections include items relating to geology, zoology, mineralogy, paleontology, ethnology, history, and photography.
Tuscaloosa County High School
Tuscaloosa County High School serves grades 9-12 and is located in Northport, Alabama, forming part of the Tuscaloosa County Schools. Tuscaloosa County High was opened near downtown Northport in the 1920s, and around the year 2000 was moved to its current location, further north of Northport.
University of Alabama Quad
The Quad is an approximately 22-acre quadrangle on the campus of the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Home to most of the university's original buildings, this portion of the campus remains the geographic and historic center of the modern campus. Originally designed by noted English-born architect William Nichols, construction of the university campus began in 1828, following the move of the Alabama state capital from Cahaba to Tuscaloosa in 1826.
Tuscaloosa County High School (historical)
Tuscaloosa County High School original building was completed in 1926. The first graduating class was summer of 1927. The Principal was Dr. Houston Cole, who later became President of Jacksonville State University. The first student government for the school was organized in 1928. Hiram Darden was the first president. Secretary for that class was Inez Deal. The treasurer was Dan Whitson. Built as a high school for the county, many rural county schools were closed.
University of Alabama College of Engineering
The College of Engineering is one of the thirteen colleges at the University of Alabama. The University began offering engineering classes in 1837. The university is the fourth oldest engineering institution in the United States, after the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Columbia University, and the University of Virginia.

Ol' Colony Golf Complex
Ol' Colony Golf Complex is a municipal public golf course in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. The course opened in December 2000 on 597 acres that was once a farm plantation for a mental institution named Boy's Colony. Ol' Colony was designed by professional golfer Jerry Pate, who played golf for The University of Alabama. The 18-hole course has rolling hills and is heavily wooded with tall pines and soaring oaks.
Tuscaloosa Amphitheater
The Tuscaloosa Amphitheater is an outdoor amphitheater in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, USA that is used primarily for music performances. It has a seating capacity of 7,470. The amphitheater is located on Jack Warner Parkway, just beside the Hugh R. Thomas Bridge; only minutes away from the University of Alabama campus and blocks from the downtown. It is the largest outdoor theater in West Alabama.
