Lake Tuscaloosa

Lake Tuscaloosa is a reservoir in west-central Alabama, created by damming North River. It was constructed to provide water for Tuscaloosa residents and for industrial use as well. Home to most of the university's original buildings, this portion of the campus remains the geographic and historic center of the modern campus. Tuscaloosa County High School (historical)

Tuscaloosa County High School original building was completed in 1926. The first graduating class was summer of 1927. The Principal was Dr. Houston Cole, who later became President of Jacksonville State University. The first student government for the school was organized in 1928.
