Fort Conde
For the fort in France, see Fort de Condé-sur-Aisne. Fort Conde, located in Mobile, Alabama, is a reconstruction, at 4/5 scale, as a third of the original 1720s French Fort Condé at the site. The original fort was also known as Fort Carlota and also Fort Charlotte (under British or American rule). The fort is located at 150 South Royal Street. The current Fort Conde, spanning almost 1/3 of the original fort, was recreated at 4/5-scale on the site.
Mobile (Amtrak station)
The Mobile Amtrak station was a train station in Mobile, Alabama, United States served by Amtrak, the national railroad passenger system. Service was suspended after Hurricane Katrina, which flooded the station. In 2006, CSX sold the property to a developer, who razed the station in 2007. The site plan provides for a future station nearby. The station was built by the Louisville and Nashville Railroad in 1956, replacing an earlier station on the same site.
