Mobile County is a county of the U.S. state of Alabama. Its name is in honor of a tribe of Indians, the Maubila tribe. As of the 2010 census, its population was 412,992. Its county seat is Mobile, Alabama. The entire county is included in the Mobile metropolitan statistical area.

Eddie Stanky Field is a baseball park in Mobile, Alabama. During the 90's, it was the home of the Mobile BaySharks. The Mobile Bay LPGA Classic is a women's professional golf tournament on the LPGA Tour, played in Mobile, Alabama. The event debuted in September 2008 at the Magnolia Grove location on the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail, with total prize money of $1.4 million. Angela Stanford won the inaugural edition by one stroke over Shanshan Feng, which was televised on Golf Channel in the U.S. , as well as internationally. The tournament was not played in 2009, but was revived in 2010 and moved to mid-May.
