Center Point, Alabama
Center Point is a newly incorporated city and a former census-designated place (CDP) in northeastern Jefferson County, Alabama, United States. It is part of the Birmingham–Hoover Metropolitan Area. At the 2000 census the population was 22,784. However, after its incorporation in 2002, the city's boundaries are much smaller than those of the CDP. As of the 2010 census, the population of the incorporated city was 16,921. The public high school for Center Point is Center Point High School.

Ruffner Mountain Park
Ruffner Mountain Nature Center is a 1,011 acres nature preserve located in the eastern portions of Jefferson County, Alabama near Birmingham's suburb, Irondale. The preserve includes a visitor center containing native Alabama animals including raptors, snakes, turtles and owls. The Ruffner Mountain area was home to iron ore mines and stone quarries, supplying the area's steel mills. When the mines played out in the 1950s, nature reclaimed the area.

Century Plaza
Century Plaza was an enclosed shopping mall in Birmingham, Alabama, USA. Opened in 1975, the mall originally included four anchor stores and more than one hundred tenants, but lost three of those anchors in the mid-2000s. In May 2009, the mall was completely closed as Sears and the rest of the stores in the mall closed. The mall was managed by General Growth Properties of Chicago, Illinois at the time of its closure. It is now owned by the Howard Hughes Corporation.

Pennsylvania Central Airlines Flight 105
Pennsylvania Central Airlines Flight 105 was a regularly scheduled commercial flight between New York City and Birmingham, Alabama which crashed in the pre-dawn hours of January 6, 1946 while landing at Birmingham Municipal Airport, resulting in three fatalities. The accident is the only fatal recorded Part 121 (Air Carrier) accident at the airport.
1916 Irondale earthquake
The 1916 Irondale earthquake struck north–central Alabama on October 18, 1916. The greatest earthquake recorded in state history, it registered an estimated magnitude of 5.1 on the Richter scale and resulted in extensive minor damage, reaching its maximum severity near its epicenter in the city of Irondale. Damage from the earthquake, which included cracked windows, fallen chimneys, and the drying of wells, was limited to Shelby and Jefferson counties.
Pinnacle at Tutwiler Farm
The Pinnacle at Tutwiler Farm is a 75-acre, 644,000 square feet, $100 million lifestyle center located in Trussville, Alabama, which opened on October 11, 2006. The center was developed by Colonial Properties on land previously distinguished by a rocky hillside. Nearby is the Colonial Promenade at Tutwiler Farm, which was also developed by Colonial Properties. Anchor tenants include Belk and JCPenney (who relocated their existing stores from Century Plaza).
