Anniston, Alabama
Anniston is a city in Calhoun County in the state of Alabama. As of the 2010 census, the population of the city is 23,106. According to the 2011 U.S. Census estimates, the city had a population of 22,959. The city is the county seat of Calhoun County and one of two urban centers/principal cities of and included in the Anniston-Oxford Metropolitan Statistical Area. WEAC-CD is a Class-A low-power television station in Jacksonville, Alabama, broadcasting on channel 34 (virtual 24) and transmitting facilities atop Coldwater Mountain in Oxford. WEAC-CD shows FamilyNet programming and local programming throughout the day. WEAC-CD also carries sports programs including JSU and local high school sports. WDNG (1450 AM, "Newstalk 1450") is a radio station licensed to serve Anniston, Alabama, USA. The station is owned by WDNG, Inc. It airs a News/Talk format and features programming from ABC Radio. On 1 September, the station went silent for technical and financial reasons for nearly one month. WDNG went back on the air in October 2012. The station was assigned the WDNG call letters by the Federal Communications Commission.
