District of Radnorshire
Radnorshire was one of three districts of the county of Powys, Wales, from 1974 - 1996. The district had an identical area to the previous administrative county of Radnorshire. The district was formed as Radnor on 1 April 1974 as part of a general reorganisation of local government in England and Wales under the Local Government Act 1972.

The remains of Aberedw Castle, also known as 'Castle in Elfael Uwch Mynydd', are located at the small village of Aberedw in the county of Powys, mid-Wales.
Llanfaredd Halt railway station
Llanfaredd Halt railway station was an unstaffed railway station on the Mid Wales and Cambrian railway line, between Builth Wells Station and Erwood railway station. The station consisted of a small wooden platform and shelter, on the eastern side of the single line. Rarely used, the station was demolished on its closure on 31 December 1962. At present, the trackbed is still present and the site of the station can still be found with difficulty though on private land.
Abernant, Powys
Abernant is a hamlet 6 miles south of Builth Wells, Powys. The spring forms above Abernant, near the summit of Banc y Celyn (472m), and runs through Abernant to join the River Wye. There is a large adventure centre, a branch of Manor Adventure, that operates from an old hotel in Abernant. There is also a mine in the hills outside the village.
Mechain
Mechain was a medieval cantref in the Kingdom of Powys. It lay almost in the centre of the kingdom, bordering with cantref Caereinion to the south, the two cwmwds of the cantref of Mochnant to the north, and part of the cantref of Deuparth and the cwmwds of Deuddwr and Ystrad Marchell to the east. Gwerful Mechain, a female Welsh poet of the later Middle Ages renowned for her daring erotic verse, was a native of Mechain.

Colwyn Rural District
Colwyn was, from 1894 to 1974, a rural district in the administrative county of Radnorshire, Wales. The district was formed by the Local Government Act 1894, when the existing Builth Rural Sanitary District was divided into two: the section in Breconshire was reconstituted as Builth Rural District and that in Radnorshire as Colwyn Rural District. The new district took its name from the ancient hundred of Colwyn. The council continued to be based in Builth Wells in Breconshire.
Builth Castle
Builth Castle was a castle built under King Edward I, today an abandoned site just outside Builth Wells, Powys, Wales. Construction started in May 1277 and continued until August 1282, when the castle was left unfinished for lack of money. It replaced an earlier Anglo-Norman fortification built by the Marcher baron Philip de Braose, who claimed the area as a Marcher lordship.
