Gladestry is a small village and community in Powys, Mid Wales, close to the border with England at the end of the Hergest Ridge. The village is part of a thriving farming and agricultural community, and a local quarry. The village comprises a parish church, the Royal Oak pub, a primary school which educates around 50-60 children and a village hall. In the 2001 census the population of the community was 419.

New Radnor Rural District
New Radnor was, from 1894 to 1974, a rural district in the administrative county of Radnorshire, Wales. The district was formed by the Local Government Act 1894, when the existing Kington Rural Sanitary District was divided into two: the section in Herefordshire was reconstituted as Kington Rural District, while the section in Radnorshire became New Radnor Rural District. The new district took its name from the village of New Radnor, at one time a borough and county town of Radnorshire.
Castle Nimble
Castle Nimble (also called Knapp; Maes Hyfaidd; Maes Hyvaidd) was a motte and bailey defensive fortification near Old Radnor, in Radnorshire, Wales. Castle Nimble appears to have had an oval-shaped ditched motte standing atop a high summit, with a semi-rectangular bailey, and some other enclosures, including possibly a pond. Little of Castle Nimble's history is known, but some believe it may have been established by Philip de Braose.
Baynham Hall
Baynham Hall is a Grade II* listed 17th century manor house located in Michaelchurch-On-Arrow, Gladestry, Powys, Wales. Originally built in circa 1700, the stone house was added to an earlier wing of the previous property and developments. Of William and Mary-aged proportions across five bays, it has a tall hipped roof, pediment gable containing a Venetian window, and tall chimney stacks. Internally the house contains a period staircase with contemporary turned ballastrades.
