Fort Hubberstone
Fort Hubberstone, on the west side of Milford Haven, Pembrokeshire, is a Grade II* Listed Building which belongs to a series of forts built as part of the inner line of defence of the Haven following the Royal Commission on the Defence of the United Kingdom. Together with Popton Fort on the opposite shore, it provided an interlocking field of fire, and represented the last layer of defence before reaching the Royal Naval dockyard at Pembroke Dock.
Torch Theatre, Milford Haven
The Torch Theatre is a not-for-profit theatre in Milford Haven, Pembrokeshire, Wales. Established in 1977, it is one of only three building-based producing theatres in the whole of Wales. The initial concept was a small community enterprise, linked with a Further Education centre in the adjacent building. Expansion however meant that it became a much larger project. The theatre was designed by local architect, Monty Minter.
Popton Fort
Popton Fort, a Grade II* Listed Building, is a Palmerston fort completed in 1864 as part of the inner line of defence of Milford Haven together with Fort Hubberstone on the opposite bank. It comprises two batteries, Moncrieff Battery on the west side and Open Battery on the north. Abandoned at the start of the 20th century it was used again during the Second World War. Bought in 1957 by BP to be used as an oil terminal it was renovated but was closed to the public.
Rhoscrowther
Rhoscrowther is a village and former civil parish in Pembrokeshire, Wales, 5.6 miles west of Pembroke, near the south shore of Milford Haven. It is part of the community of Hundleton. The placename is Welsh and perhaps means "crwth-player's moor". The church is a very early Christian site and was dedicated to Saint Decuman, whence the settlement's original name Llandegeman or Llandegman.
Pembroke Refinery
The Pembroke Refinery is an oil refinery situated on the Pembrokeshire coast in Wales at Rhoscrowther in the community of Hundleton. It first came on stream in 1964. The refinery has a fluid catalytic cracking unit that came on stream in 1982. The refinery also has an HF Alkylation unit, catalytic reforming unit and three hydrotreating type units. Pembroke refinery has the capability of refining high Total Acid Number crude oils like Captain and Doba crudes.
RNMD Milford Haven
RNMD Milford Haven is a decommissioned Royal Naval Armaments Depot located on the north shore of Milford Haven between Milford Haven and Llanstadwel in the County of Pembrokeshire, Wales. The area is known as Newton Noyes.
Greenhill transmitting station
The Greenhill television relay station is sited on high ground known as "Greenhill" to the south of the towns of Milford Haven and Pembroke Dock in south Wales. It was originally built in the 1980s as a fill-in relay for UHF analogue television covering the communities of Pwllcrochan, Wallaston Cross, Wallaston Green, Rhoscrowther and Hundleton. It consists of a 45 m self-supporting lattice steel mast standing on a hillside which is itself about 75 m above sea level.
Milford Haven Museum
Milford Haven Museum is a maritime and heritage museum in Milford Haven, Pembrokeshire. Opened in 1991, it has a heavy focus on the maritime history of the town, with exhibitions which explore the fishing and oil industries in the area. The collection also contains information relating to the railway industry in the area, Milford at war, and the shipbuilding industry.
