Abercraf
Abercraf (English: Abercrave) is a village within the historic boundaries of Brecknockshire in the modern county of Powys, Wales.
A4067 road
The A4067 road is an A road in Wales connecting Swansea with Sennybridge. It runs in a southwest to northeast direction beginning at Oystermouth Square in Mumbles, Swansea, and continuing from there to Swansea city centre, where there is a break in the route. It begins again in Landore and climbs almost the full length of the Swansea Valley to the pass at Bwlch Bryn-rhudd, from where it descends to join the A40 at Sennybridge on the River Usk.
A4109 road
The A4109 road links Aberdulais with Glynneath in Neath Port Talbot county borough, Wales. The route begins in Aberdulais at the junction with the A4230 and A465 roads; it diverges northwards away from the A465 up the Dulais Valley and crosses through the settlements of Crynant, Ynysfforch, Seven Sisters, Onllwyn, Dyffryn Cellwen and Banwen where it has a junction with the A4221.
Seven Sisters (electoral ward)
Seven Sisters is an electoral ward coterminous with a parish in Neath Port Talbot county borough, Wales. The electoral ward of Seven Sisters consists of some or all of the following settlements: Seven Sisters, Bryndulais and Nant-y-cafn in the parliamentary constituency of Neath. Seven Sisters has large patches of woodland to the north, east and south, with open moorland in the northwest and central areas. Coal mine workings are still very evident in the area.
Abercrave railway station
Abercrave railway station served the village of Abercraf in the traditional county of Glamorganshire, Wales. Opened in 1869 by the Swansea Vale and Neath and Brecon Junction Railway, it was eventually absorbed by the Great Western Railway which closed it to passengers in 1932 although the line through the station remained open for freight for some time after that.
A4221 road
The A4221 is an A road which links Banwen with Abercraf in Wales. The roads begins just south of Abercraf at the junction with the A4067. It then heads eastwards through Caehopkin and then bypasses Coelbren. It joins the A4109 just west of Banwen.
Dulais Valley
The Dulais Valley, one of the South Wales Valleys is traversed by the River Dulais in southwest Wales north of the town of Neath. Settlements in the valley include Crynant, Seven Sisters, Banwen and Dyffryn Cellwen which are served by the A4109 road though the valley. The towns in the valley developed from the coal mining industry. Visitor attractions in the valley include the Cefn Coed Colliery Museum.
Mynydd y Drum
Mynydd y Drum is a hill on the border between the county of Powys and Neath Port Talbot County Borough, south Wales. The summit of the hill is in Neath Port Talbot (formerly the county of Glamorgan) at 298m and lies towards the western end of a broad curving ridge, the larger part of which is in Powys (former county of Brecknockshire). The eastern half of the hill is currently being opencasted for coal. The hill is sometimes referred to simply as The Drum (Welsh drum pronounced 'drim').
