Aberdyfi Castle is a castle located near Glandyfi, Ceredigion, in Mid Wales. All that now remains is the motte, which is referred to as Domen Las (meaning "green mound" in Welsh).
Dovey Junction railway station
Dovey Junction railway station is a railway station on the Cambrian Line in Wales. It is the junction where the line splits into the line to Aberystwyth and the Cambrian Coast Line to Pwllheli. Passenger services are provided by Arriva Trains Wales. Allowing for the inclusion of outlying buildings and signals, it is routinely claimed that Dovey Junction lies at the intersection of three counties, these being the traditional Welsh counties of Meirionydd, Montgomery and Ceredigion.
St Peter ad Vincula, Pennal
The parish church of St Peter ad Vincula in the village of Pennal in Gwynedd, north-west Wales, is notable as the site of the last senate meeting held by the renegade Welsh prince, Owain Glyndŵr. It was founded in the 6th century. It is thought that the church was so named by Glyndŵr in competition with the chapel of St Peter ad Vincula in the Tower of London, one of the chapels royal of his rival, King Henry IV of England.
River Llyfnant
The River Llyfnant,, near Eglwys Fach in Ceredigion, Wales is a tributary of the Dyfi estuary. The river reaches the hill walk of Uwch Garreg, then plunges over the waterfalls known as Pistyll y Llyn, into the ravine that opens to the Dyfi estuary. Red Kite are noted for circling the area. The Cambrian Coast Line from Shrewsbury crosses the Llyfnan into Ceredigion after Dyfi Junction.
Mynydd Esgairweddan
Mynydd Esgairweddan is a hill near Pennal in southern Gwynedd, Wales. Nearby is the tiny settlement of Esgairweddan. It is very close to the site of the old Roman fort of Cefn Caer (Pennal). The area was described in the Topographical Dictionary of Wales by Samuel Lewis (published 1833) as; "A tract of hilly and rocky ground but little adapted for purposes of agriculture.
Llugwy Hall
Llugwy is the name of an old property near Pennal, a village on the A493 road in southern Gwynedd, Wales, on the north bank of the Afon Dyfi/River Dovey, near Machynlleth. It lies in the former county of Merionethshire/Sir Feirionnydd, and is within the Snowdonia National Park. Llugwy was the home of the Anwyl family since 1682.
