Afon-wen
Afonwen is a town in Flintshire, Wales. It is situated just under four miles from the A55 North Wales Expressway and on the A541 Mold-Denbigh road. At the 2001 Census, the population of Afonwen was included into the civil parish of Caerwys and was 1,319, with a total ward population of 2,496.
Moel-y-Parc transmitting station
The Moel-y-Parc transmitting station is situated on Moel y Parc, a hill in north-east Wales at the northern end of the Clwydian range, close to the town of Caerwys and several kilometres north-east of Denbigh. It was built in 1962/1963 by the IBA to bring 405-line VHF ITV television to North Wales and it has been on the air since 1963. Its original height of 229 m made it the tallest structure in North Wales and it stands on land that is itself about 335 m above sea level.
Aled Rural District
Aled was a rural district in the administrative county of Denbighshire, Wales, from 1935 to 1974. The district was created by a county review order in 1935 which reoganised districts in the county. It was formed by merging the bulk of St Asaph (Denbigh) Rural District with the Nant Conway area previously administered by Conway Rural District in neighbouring Caernarfonshire. The district was named after the River Aled.
Ysceifiog
Ysceifiog, also written Ysgeifiog, is a small village, community and parish in Flintshire, Wales. It lies on a back road just north of the A541 highway between Nannerch and Caerwys. The name translates roughly as "a place where elder trees grow". The parish includes the villages of Lixwm, to the east of Ysceifiog village, and Babell, to the north.
Moel y Parc
Moel y Parc (sometimes written as Moel-y-Parc) is a country park in Britain. On the border between Denbighshire and Flintshire in Wales, it is one of the Clwydian Hills, rising 398 metres above sea level. It is located at OS grid reference SJ114703. There is a television mast near the summit.
