St Asaph railway station
St Asaph railway station served the town of St Asaph in Denbighshire, Wales. It was opened by the Vale of Clwyd Railway (later absorbed into the London & North Western Railway) on 5 October 1858 and closed on 19 September 1955.
Trefnant railway station
Trefnant railway station served the village of Trefnant in North Wales. It closed for passengers in 1955 and freight in 1957. The station platform and the siding area was still visible until the Llys Teg housing association estate was built around 1990. There was a railway bridge at the top of "Hafod" on the A541 in the village which is now demolished but is still visible as a hump in the road.
Ysgol Glan Clwyd
Ysgol Glan Clwyd (or Ysgol Uwchradd Glan Clwyd) is a Welsh medium secondary school, and was the first of its kind. It opened in 1956, initially at Rhyl on the coast before moving inland to St Asaph in 1969 http://www. estyn. gov. uk/inspection_reports/ysgoldewisant. pdf. It is overseen by Denbighshire Local Education Authority. In 2006 it had 833 students, of whom 108 were in the sixth form.
Denbigh Friary
Denbigh Friary (also known as Henllan Friary) is a ruined monastic religious house located in Clwyd, Wales. It is situated in the valley of the River Clwyd, approximately 1 mile east of Denbigh. Founded in 1343-50 (or before 1289), the friary was dedicated to St Mary, and was a Carmelite community. The English Benedictine abbot, Robert Parfew was involved in the 18 August 1538 surrender of the Carmelites of Denbigh Friary.
