Oystermouth
Oystermouth (a corruption of the Welsh name Ystum Llwynarth or Ystumllwynarth) is an electoral ward and a village in the Mumbles community and also the City and County of Swansea, Wales. The electoral ward consists of some or all of the following areas: Oystermouth, the Mumbles, Thistleboon, Limeslade, in the parliamentary constituency of Gower. The ward is bounded by Newton to the west, West Cross to the north and Swansea Bay to the south and east.
Oystermouth Castle
Oystermouth Castle (Welsh: Castell Ystum Llwynarth) is a Norman stone castle in Wales, overlooking Swansea Bay on the east side of the Gower Peninsula near the village of the Mumbles.
Mayals
Mayals is a suburb of Swansea, Wales. It is located about 3 miles south west of Swansea city centre. It falls within the Mayals ward and the Mumbles community council area (MCC). The ward of Mayals lies within the constituency of Swansea West, the only MCC ward not in the Gower constituency. The suburb of Mayals consists mainly of higher value privately owned housing.
Langland Bay
Langland Bay is a popular coastal holiday resort in Gower, near Swansea in south Wales. In the right conditions, it is one of the best surf beaches in Britain. Langland annually wins the prestigious European Blue Flag award for water/sand quality.
Mumbles Beach
Mumbles Beach is a very small sheltered area of sand and rock pools sandwiched between Swansea Bay beach and Bracelet Bay in the south eastern corner of the Gower Peninsula, Swansea, Wales. A lot of sea life can be found in the pools and under the rocks, left trapped by the retreating tides. During the summer, this beach can get very busy with people combing the beach for hermit crabs and small fishes. The beach is accessible from a flight of steps beside the Mumbles Pier.
Limeslade Bay
Limeslade Bay is a small cove just to the west of Bracelet Bay in the south east corner of the Gower Peninsula, near Swansea in south Wales. It is a sheltered, mainly rocky beach with little sand. Bathing is possible. There is a car park in the adjacent Bracelet Bay. From Limeslade Bay there is a cliff walk to Langland Bay, about half a mile to the west. Of note is an iron mine at the head of the bay, near the roadside. This is believed to have been worked from Roman times.
Rotherslade
Rotherslade is a small stretch of sandy beach at the eastern end of Langland Bay in the south Gower Peninsula, Wales. Previously known as 'Little Langland', it only exists as a separate beach at high tide. At low tide it is continuous with Langland Bay.

Mayals is the name of an electoral ward of the City and County of Swansea, Wales, UK. It is also part of the Mumbles Community. The electoral ward consists of some or all of the following geographical areas: Blackpill, Mayals and part of West Cross, in the parliamentary constituency of Swansea West. It is bounded by the wards of Sketty and Killay South to the north; Swansea Bay to the east; West Cross to the south; and Bishopston and Fairwood to the west.
West Cross (electoral ward)
West Cross is the name of an electoral ward in the Mumbles community and a suburb in the City and County of Swansea, Wales, UK. The ward falls within the Mumbles community. The electoral ward consists of some or all of the following areas: Manselfield, Norton, West Cross, Mumbles and Newton, in the parliamentary constituency of Gower. It is bordered by the wards of Mayals to the north; Swansea Bay to the east; Oystermouth and Newton to the south; and Bishopston to the west.
Mumbles Hill
Mumbles Hill is a hill near the south eastern tip of the Gower Peninsula, Wales. Parts of the hill form a designated Local Nature Reserve, declared in 1991. Defensive gunnery positions were built on the hill in World War II. Remnants of the 623rd Anti-Aircraft Battery gun emplacements and control bunker are still visible on the hill. Coastal Defence Battery 299 had a site on a hill with 6 inch gun and underground magazines, though none of this remains on the hill.
Princess Amelia (ship)
The Princess Amelia was a Dutch merchant ship in the service of the Dutch West India Company that carried 600 tons and was ringed with thirty-eight guns. During its 1647 arrival to and departure from New Netherland, it was commanded by Jan Claesen Bol, who was twenty eight at the time. The ship carried Petrus Stuyvesant, the new Director-General of New Netherland, his wife Judith Bayard, and Stuyvesant’s councilors to Manhattan, where they landed May 1647.
