Aberarth
Aberarth, Ceredigion, Wales is a small seaside village situated towards the southern end of Cardigan Bay between Aberystwyth and Cardigan. As its name suggests it is at the mouth of the River Arth and is on the A487 coastal road.
Dinerth Castle
The Castle of Dinerth (Welsh: Castell Dineirth or Castell Dinerth, also Castell Allt Craig Arth) is a Welsh castle located near Aberarth, Ceredigion, west Wales (ca.1110). The ruins of the medieval timber castle can be found on a hill about 1½ miles up the valley from the seaside town of Aberarth.
River Arth
The River Arth is a small river that emerges in the hills near Bethania, Ceredigion, Wales, which runs west for 15 miles and discharges its waters into Cardigan Bay at Aberarth. Despite its small size it is one of the few rivers in Britain which has a bore when the incoming tide cause a tidal wave to run upstream. The Arth bore is only a few inches high and it runs only for a short distance upstream.
Llanerchaeron
Llanerchaeron, known as "Llanayron House" to its nineteenth-century occupants, is a mansion on the River Aeron, designed and built in 1795 by John Nash for Major (later Colonel) William Lewis as a model, self-sufficient farm complex located near Ciliau Aeron, some 2½ miles south-east of Aberaeron, Ceredigion, Wales. There is evidence that the house replaced an earlier mansion. A later owner, William Lewes was the husband of Colonel Lewis's inheriting daughter.
Aberayron railway station
Aberayron railway station was a small railway station at Aberaeron, the terminus of a branch of the Carmarthen to Aberystwyth Line in the Welsh county of Ceredigion. Opened by the Lampeter, Aberayron and New Quay Light Railway, the branch diverged from the through line at Lampeter.
Ffos-y-ffin
Ffos-y-ffin is a village near Aberaeron, Wales. It is a great place to see the Red Kites. It is on the very scenic road between Aberystwyth and Cardigan. There is a public house called the Red Lion. The name translates into English as "Boundary Ditch", the ditch in question can be seen from the bridge just before the public house. Ffos-y-ffin is on the A487. Travelling south west along A487 the next village is Llwyncelyn.
Castle Hotel, Aberaeron
The Castle Hotel, Aberaeron is located in a Grade II listed building in the coastal town of Aberaeron, Ceredigion, West Wales. The interior of the building was designed by interior designer Ann Hughes, who also designed the Harbourmaster Hotel. The hotel regularly takes part in the annual Aberaeron Seafood Festival. The hotel received a grant from the Welsh Assembly Government in 2008, and in 2011 won Bronze in the local 'Curiad Calon' Healthy Food scheme.
