97.5 Scarlet FM
Scarlet FM is a local radio station covering the Llanelli, Burry Port and Pembrey areas of south Carmarthenshire in west Wales, playing contemporary and classic music. The station was originally based at The Foothold Centre in the Stebonheath area of Llanelli, but has since moved to Town and Country Broadcasting's West Wales studios in Narberth, Pembrokeshire.
Five Roads
Five Roads is a hamlet in Carmarthenshire, Wales near the town of Llanelli. It is situated on the B4309 Llanelli to Carmarthen road, about five miles from the former and ten miles from the latter. The name of the village comes from the fact that there are five roads leading off what is known as The Square, the central portion of the village centred around the main road.
River Lliedi
The River Lliedi has its source in the hills near Llanelli and Llannon in Carmarthenshire, Wales. The river fills the Swiss Valley reservoir and meets the sea at the Bury estuary at the former Carmarthenshire Dock, Llanelli. The river's flow near the Llanelli coastline has been altered several times over the last 200 years to build docks to serve the large tinplate and coal mining industries of the town.

Swiss Valley Reservoir
Swiss Valley reservoir, also known as Upper Lliedi reservoir and Lower Lliedi reservoir, feeds water to the towns of Llanelli and Llannon. It gets the water from the River Lliedi. The Swiss Valley Cycle Route, which forms part of National Cycle Route 47, itself part of the Celtic Trail), passes Swiss Valley Reservoir on a traffic free path between Llanelli and Cross Hands.
Cynheidre Colliery
Cynheidre Colliery was a coal mine located in the Gwendraeth valley, in Carmarthenshire, South Wales. Opened in 1954, it closed in 1989. Cynheidre was developed by the National Coal Board as one of the West Wales "super pits" alongside Abernant Colliery in the River Amman valley, a post-World War II investment intend to keep economic coal mining a viable industry in the area.
Pentremawr Colliery
Pentremawr Colliery was a coal mine, located in the Gwendraeth valley in Carmarthenshire, South Wales. Due to the angle and depth of the anthracite in this part of Wales, Pentremawr was a slant mine, and hence access and extraction of the coal did not need a shaft. However, the commercial extraction of coal is limited by geological faults in the area. The first two attempts were aborted in 1870, after a huge fault was encountered.
Llanelli transmitting station
The Llanelli transmitting station is a broadcasting and telecommunications facility located on high ground north of the town of Llanelli, South Wales. It was originally built by the BBC, entering service in mid 1970 transmitting the now-defunct 405-line VHF television system. As such, it was one of the last 405 transmitters ever built. UHF colour television was added to the mast in early 1975.
