The River Cothi is the largest tributary of the River Tywi in south Wales. It is noted for its trout and sea trout (sewin) fishing and for its beautiful scenery.

Pont-ar-gothi (otherwise Pontargothi) is a village in Carmarthenshire, West Wales. Pont-ar-gothi takes is name from the bridge where the River Cothi is crossed by the trunk A40 road. It lies some 10 miles east of Carmarthen.
Nantgaredig
Nantgaredig is a village in Carmarthenshire. The village is most notable for being the home of actor Julian Lewis Jones. The winner of the 1990 Cheltenham Gold Cup, Norton's Coin, was trained by Sirrel Griffiths at his farm at Nantgaredig. The village is also the home of Welsh rugby union footballer Mefin Davies who plays as a hooker in the Wales national rugby union team and the Ospreys.
