Trefawr Track
Trefawr Track, a forestry road north of Cwm-coed-Aeron Farm, Llandovery, Wales, is the location of the Global Boundary Stratotype Section and Point (GSSP) which marks the boundary between the Rhuddanian and Aeronian stages of the Silurian period on the geologic time scale. The GSSP was ratified in 1984. The boundary is defined as the first appearance of the graptolite Monograptus austerus sequens (the base of the Monograptus triangulatus biozone).
Cilycwm
Cilycwm is a village and parish located in Carmarthenshire, West Wales. Cilycwm lies on the west bank of Afon Gwenlais, a tributary of the Tywi, north of the town of Llandovery. Pont Dolauhirion, a bridge that crosses the Tywi at the south of the community was designed by William Edward's and is a copy of his famous bridge at Pontypridd.
Mynydd Mallaen
Mynydd Mallaen is an expansive hill to the northwest of Cilycwm in northeast Carmarthenshire, Wales. It takes the form of an undulating plateau with steep slopes dropping away to the Towy valley to the east and those of the Gwenffrwd, Nant Melyn and Afon Cothi to the north and west. Its highest point of 462m at OS grid reference SN 723455 is surmounted by two Bronze Age cairns known as Crugiau Merched (which translates from Welsh as ladies barrows).
Cilycwm transmitting station
The Cilycwm television relay station is sited on high ground to the east of the village of Cilycwm to the north of Llandovery in Carmarthenshire, South Wales. It was originally built in 1987 as a fill-in relay for UHF analogue colour television covering the communities of Cilycwm and Rhandirmwyn. It consists of a 17 m self-standing lattice steel mast standing on a hillside which is itself about 190 m above sea level.
