Bridgend County Borough
Bridgend (Welsh: Pen-y-bont ar Ogwr) is a county borough in the historic county of Glamorgan, south Wales. The county borough has a total population of 139,200 people, and contains the settlements of Bridgend, after which it is named, Maesteg, and the seaside town of Porthcawl. Its member of the National Assembly for Wales is Carwyn Jones, the First Minister of Wales, and its Member of Parliament is Madeleine Moon. The county borough lies at the geographical heart of south Wales.
Ogwr
The Borough of Ogwr was one of six districts of Mid Glamorgan in Wales, which existed from 1974 to 1996. It was formed under the Local Government Act 1972 from the urban districts of Bridgend, Maesteg, Ogmore and Garw and Porthcawl, along with Penybont Rural District from the administrative county of Glamorgan. In 1996 most of Ogwr became part of Bridgend County Borough, with the Vale of Glamorgan taking the communities of Wick, St Brides Major and Ewenny.

Bridgend railway station
Bridgend railway station is a mainline railway station, serving the town of Bridgend, South Wales. It is located approximately halfway between Cardiff Central and Swansea at the point where the Maesteg Line diverges from the South Wales Main Line, and is the western terminus of the Vale of Glamorgan Line from Cardiff via Barry and Llantwit Major. It is the fifth busiest station in Wales, after Cardiff Central, Cardiff Queen Street, Newport and Swansea.

Bridgend College is a further education college based in Bridgend, Wales. Founded in 1928 as the Bridgend Mining and Technical Institute, the college today has four campuses in Bridgend, Pencoed and Maesteg. Courses offered include NVQs and BTECs. The college also offers a range of higher education courses, including HNCs, HNDs and degrees. It is the largest provider of higher education courses of any FE college in Wales.

Bridgend bus station is an 11-stand bus station situated in the town centre of Bridgend, South Wales. After a £2.3 million redevelopment, it opened in November 2004. The terminal is single-storey structure powered by solar rooftop panels. The exterior features bays, room for buses to manoeuvre and a simple entrance and exit system. Facilities include emergency help points, touch screen public information, toilets and baby changing area.
Newcastle Castle, Bridgend
Newcastle Castle, is a medieval castle located on Newcastle Hill, overlooking the town centre of Bridgend in Glamorgan, South Wales. It was originally believed to date from 1106 when a ringwork was created at the site by the Norman baron, Robert Fitzhamon. Today it is ruinous.
