Sirhowy Valley
The Sirhowy Valley is an industrialised valley in the eastern part of the Valleys region of South Wales. It is named from the Sirhowy River which runs through it. Its upper reaches are occupied by the town of Tredegar within the unitary area of Blaenau Gwent. The valley initially heads south-southeast between the ridges of Cefn Manmoel to the east and Mynydd Bedwellte to the west before turning to a more southerly direction.
Ebbw Vale Town railway station
Ebbw Vale Town railway station has been identified as a possible future terminus for the Ebbw Valley Railway in Wales. Under the proposals of stage two of the project a half-hourly service would be introduced and a two-platform station would be built to act as the northern terminus of the line close to the old British Steel General Office Site part of "the Works" development.
Tredegar General Hospital
Tredegar General Hospital was a community hospital in Tredegar, Blaenau Gwent, Wales providing rehabilitation and GP in-patient care with 85 full and part-time staff and 58 beds in two wards. There was a small 24 hour minor casualty unit staffed by nurses. The hospital was operated by the Aneurin Bevan Local Health Board until its closure in 2010.
Ysbyty Aneurin Bevan
Ysbyty Aneurin Bevan is the hospital opened in October 2010 to replace the old Ebbw Vale Hospital, which closed at the end of 2005. It cost £34 million and stands on the site of the former Ebbw Vale Steelworks. The hospital is managed by the Aneurin Bevan Local Health Board. It was the first NHS hospital to be built in England or Wales with 100% single room, ensuite facilities to help control infection and improve privacy.
Eugene Cross Park
Eugene Cross Park is a rugby and cricket ground in Ebbw Vale, Wales. In November 1919 the Ebbw Vale Welfare Association was formed and bought the "Bridgend Field". The 6 acres of land became known as the Welfare Ground, and in 1973 its name was changed to its present title in honour of Sir Eugene Cross, the influential and long-standing Chairman of the Welfare Trustees.
Rassau
Rassau, sometimes The Rassau, is a small village located in the historic county of Brecknockshire and the preserved county of Gwent. It currently lies on the northern edge of the county borough of Blaenau Gwent in Wales. According to the 2001 census, the population of Rassau is 3,190. Residents often refer to either Old Rassau and New Rassau or Bottom Rassau and Top Rassau to distinguish the different parts of the village.
Mynydd Bedwellte
Mynydd Bedwellte is the name given to the broad ridge of high ground between the Rhymney Valley and the Sirhowy Valley in the Valleys region of South Wales. It straddles the boundary of the unitary areas of Caerphilly and Blaenau Gwent. The broad-topped ridge runs northwest to southeast and achieves a summit height of 486m at a point crowned by a trig point at OS grid ref SO 145060.

Ysbyty’r tri Chwm is a community hospital in Ebbw Vale, Blaenau Gwent, Wales, catering for the mental health needs of people over 65. The hospital is managed by the Aneurin Bevan Local Health Board. It was created when Pen-y-Fal Hospital, Abergavenny closed in 1996. There is one day hospital Oak Parc and one day centre called Ash Parc which operate Monday to Friday.
