Dunbartonshire
Dunbartonshire (Siorrachd Dhùn Bhreatainn in Gaelic) or the County of Dumbarton is a lieutenancy area and registration county in the west central Lowlands of Scotland lying to the north of the River Clyde. Until 1975 it was a county used as a primary unit of local government with its county town and administrative centre at the town of Dumbarton. The area had been previously been part of the historic district of Lennox, which was a duchy in the Peerage of Scotland related to the Duke of Lennox.

West Dunbartonshire is a county constituency of the House of Commons of the Parliament of the United Kingdom. It elects one Member of Parliament (MP) by the first past the post system of election and covers the same area as the county of West Dunbartonshire. The current constituency was first used in the 2005 general election. There was also an earlier West Dunbartonshire constituency, from 1950 to 1983. The current MP is Gemma Doyle of the Labour Party, elected at the 2010 general election.

Bowling is a village in West Dunbartonshire, Scotland, with a population of 5,500 (2011). It lies on the north bank of the Firth of Clyde, between the towns of Clydebank and Dumbarton. It is at one end of the Antonine Wall and therefore represents the extreme limit of the Roman Empire on the west coast of the island of Great Britain. A play about the history of the surrounding Dumbarton area was called The Romans Stopped At Bowling.

Milton (historically, Milton of Colquhoun) is a village in West Dunbartonshire, Scotland. It lies about 1 mile east of Dumbarton, on the A82 Glasgow-Loch Lomond road and below the Overtoun Bridge. It previously had two primary schools, now closed, one on the long road up to Overtoun house and one on the main stretch of road to Glasgow.

Boghead Park
Boghead Park is a former football ground in the town of Dumbarton, Scotland. It was formerly owned by Dumbarton F.C. , who had played there since 1879, making it one of the oldest sporting venues in the United Kingdom. It was used by the club until the end of November 2000, when they moved to their new 2,000 capacity all-seated Strathclyde Homes Stadium. Dumbarton F.C. first used Boghead Park in 1879.
Dunglass Castle
Dunglass Castle, situated in West Dunbartonshire, is a ruinous castle, originally constructed during 1400–1542. A large section of high wall remains, to approximately 7–8 metres high, with a mixture of original and newer construction. A small conical dovecot also exists on the south wall but it is now completely ruined. The castle and courtyard stone was taken in 1735 to use in repair of the quay following an order by the Commissioners of Supply.

Littlemill distillery was a Scottish malt whisky distillery in Bowling, West Dunbartonshire. Situated on the border of Lowlands and Highlands, its products were generally classified as lowlands whisky. The year when whisky was first produced is uncertain. Littlemill was described as part of the purchace of Auchentorlie Estate in the 1750s.
