Kelso Abbey
Kelso Abbey is what remains of a Scottish abbey founded in the 12th century by a community of Tironensian monks first brought to Scotland in the reign of Alexander I. It occupies ground overlooking the confluence of the Tweed and Teviot waters, the site of what was once the Royal Burgh of Roxburgh and the intended southern centre for the developing Scottish kingdom at that time. Kelso thus became the seat of a pre-eminently powerful abbacy in the heart of the Scottish Borders.
Ednam
Ednam is a small village near Kelso in the Scottish Borders area of Scotland. Places nearby include Stichill, Sprouston, Nenthorn, Eccles, Gordon, Greenlaw as well as Floors Castle. The village was formerly in Roxburghshire. Its name is a corruption of the Anglo-Saxon "Edenham", i.e. the town on Eden Water.

Siege of Roxburgh Castle
The Siege of Roxburgh was a siege that took place in 1313. It was a major conflict in the First War of Scottish Independence. Sir James Douglas, Lord of Douglas, after his victory over the Clan MacDougall had been capturing several castle back from England, but the mere thought of taking Roxburgh Castle was one that daunted him. It was on inpregnible ground, and was guarded well.
Capture of Roxburgh (1460)
The capture of Roxburgh, was a siege that took place during the Anglo-Scottish Wars. James II of Scotland had started a campaign to capture back all Scotland's castles from England, for the English were presently involved in a civil war. Roxburgh Castle was one of the last remaining English strongholds in Scotland and James led a large army and several cannons to take it. Victory was near when one of the King's cannons exploded and killed him. His army nonetheless took the castle.
Borders Abbeys Way
The Borders Abbeys Way is a long-distance footpath in the Scottish Borders area of Scotland. It is a circular walkway and is 68 miles (109 km) long. The theme of the footpath is the ruined Borders abbeys along its way—Kelso Abbey, Jedburgh Abbey, Melrose Abbey and Dryburgh Abbey—and it also includes the towns of Hawick and Selkirk.
Kelso High School (Scotland)
Kelso High School is a secondary school in Kelso, Scotland, under the control of the Scottish Borders Council. It is one of nine secondary schools in the Scottish Borders and the only one in Kelso. Pupils come to Kelso High School from the town of Kelso, the villages of Ednam, Eckford, Heiton, Makerstoun, Stichill, Smailholm, Sprouston, Morebattle, Roxburgh and Yetholm. During the 2010-2011 school year, the enrolment was 685. The current building was built in 1939.
