Battle of Nesbit Moor (1402)
The Battle of Nesbit Moor (or Nisbet Muir) was a small but significant clash between Scottish and English forces in the borders area north of the River Tweed. Specifically this clash took place on the Kimmerghame Estate in a field now named Slaughter Field. The estate is in the possession of the Swinton Family. In 1402, Scottish nobles launched a coordinated invasion of Northern England. In the initial foray, some 12,000 Scottish troops crossed into Cumberland and looted areas near Carlisle.

Manderston
Manderston House, Duns, Berwickshire, Scotland, is the home of Adrian Bailie Nottage Palmer, 4th Baron Palmer. It was completely rebuilt between 1901 and 1903 and has sumptuous interiors with a silver plated staircase. Kimmerghame House is a 19th-century mansion in the Scottish Borders, located 4 kilometres south-east of Duns by the Blackadder Water. It is the home of the Swintons of Kimmerghame. The house was designed in the Scottish Baronial style by David Bryce in 1851. Kimmerghame is protected as a category B listed building.
Blanerne Castle
Blanerne Castle is the remains of a 16th-century fortified house, located in the grounds of Blanerne House, an 18th-century country house between Chirnside and Preston in the Scottish Borders. The house and castle sit on the north bank of the Whiteadder Water, around 6 kilometres north-east of Duns. The house is currently operated as a guest house, offering access to fishing and game shooting.
Chirnsidebridge
Chirnsidebridge is a village near Chirnside in the Scottish Borders area of Scotland, at a bridge over the Whiteadder Water on its journey towards the River Tweed. The bridge is a three-span rubble bridge with the two main spans segmental-arched. As the place name varies between Chirnsidebridge and Chirnside Bridge, the paper mill has alternative names: Chirnside Paper Mill and Broomhouse Paper Mill.
