Rotten Calder
The Rotten Calder is a river to the east of East Kilbride, South Lanarkshire, Scotlandand, along with the Rotten Burn it forms the southern and western boundaries of Blantyre. It begins as the Calder Water at its source at Ardochrig, and is joined by the Cleughearn, Lea and Drumloch Burns around Langlands Moss which drain from the Eldrig Hills. This river has also been titled the 'West' or 'South Calder Water', although the latter title is shared by another river in Motherwell.

The David Livingstone Centre is a biographical museum in Blantyre, South Lanarkshire, Scotland, dedicated to the life and work of the explorer and missionary David Livingstone. The centre is operated by the National Trust for Scotland and is housed in a category A listed building. It is located in the former mill buildings which once housed 24 families including Livingstone's, and where he was born on 19 March 1813.

Once the mining ceased the village, like many others, ceased to exist and all that remains are the foundations of the pit houses.

Tannochside is an area of Uddingston approximately 8 miles south-east of Glasgow, Scotland, UK. Although considered part of Uddingston, it lies within a separate local authority area. Tannochside is contained within the boundaries of North Lanarkshire council whereas the original village of Uddingston is in South Lanarkshire. Tannochside is between the Birkenshaw and Viewpark areas of Uddingston. Tannochside is part of the Greater Glasgow conurbation.
Uddingston Grammar School
Uddingston Grammar School is the only high school in Uddingston, South Lanarkshire, Scotland. Its motto is 'Virtute Crescam' which means 'may I grow in moral excellence' The school was opened in August 1885. It was located by Uddingston railway station. In 2009 Uddingston Grammar moved to a new school building which was built on the old school playing fields, after a number of objections to the suitability of the site.
Bothwell Castle Cricket Ground
Bothwell Castle Cricket Ground is a cricket ground in Uddingston, Scotland, and is named after the nearby Bothwell Castle. The first recorded match held on the ground came in 1902 when Uddingston played a friendly against Gloucestershire. 110 years later the ground held its first List A match when Scotland played Glamorgan in the 2012 Clydesdale Bank 40. A further List A match was held there in that same competition, with Hampshire the visitors.
