The Village, East Kilbride
The Village is an area of the Scottish new town East Kilbride, in South Lanarkshire. The Village encompasses the oldest part of the town, dating back to before the designation of East Kilbride as a new town. Notable landmarks include the East Kilbride Parish Church, the Village Theatre, and the railway line to Glasgow (and path of the former line to Hamilton). East Kilbride High School (Known as the old Village High School) was built in 1880 and closed in 1984.
Birniehill, East Kilbride
Birniehill is an area of the Scottish new town East Kilbride, in South Lanarkshire. It lies between the Town Centre and St Leonards. Birniehill is the site of the National Engineering Laboratories, once home to a small nuclear reactor. Dollan Baths
Dollan Aqua Centre (previously known as Dollan Baths) is a 20th-century category A listed building in East Kilbride, Scotland. Designed by Alexander Buchanan Campbell, it was opened in 1968 as Scotland's first 50 metre swimming pool. It consists principally of pre-stressed concrete and imitates a colossal marquee - the vaulted 324 ft parabolic arched roof appears to be held down by pairs of 'V' shaped-struts that meet the ground at a 30° angle.
St Andrew's and St Bride's High School
St Andrew's and St Bride's High School is a Catholic school in East Kilbride, Scotland. The current head teacher is Douglas Cosgrove. The school opened in 2007, and as of September 2010, had a roll of 1,448 pupils. The new buildings are adjacent to St Bride's Roman Catholic church, built in 1964 by Gillespie, Kidd & Coia.

A749 road
The A749 road connects East Kilbride with Glasgow City Centre. The road starts off at a roundabout called "The Whirlies", with a junction for the A725 road, starting as a dual carriageway. The road continues and it meets another roundabout for the A749 spur which leads onto the A725 road. The road continues and goes past the Kingsgate Retail Park. After a traffic light junction the road becomes National Speed Limit descending down a long hill towards Rutherglen.
St Bride's Church, East Kilbride
