Birkenshaw, North Lanarkshire
Birkenshaw is a village in North Lanarkshire, Scotland, to the east of Glasgow, and in proximity to Uddingston, Tannochside and Viewpark. Birkenshaw is largely a housing estate, but is more widely known for the Birkenshaw trading estate, popular with couples on weekends for its range of DIY, electrical and furniture stores. Birkenshaw is considered as part of Uddingston and is contained within the Greater Glasgow conurbation.

Sir Matt Busby Sports Complex
The Sir Matt Busby Sports Complex is a public leisure centre located in Bellshill, North Lanarkshire, Scotland. It is named in honour of Sir Matt Busby, the football manager who was born in Bellshill in 1909, managed Manchester United from 1945 to 1969 and died in 1994. It opened in 1995, the year after Busby's death. An image of Sir Matt's face adorns the centre's reception area.
Cardinal Newman High School, Bellshill
Cardinal Newman High School is a Roman Catholic, co-educational, comprehensive secondary school located in Bellshill, North Lanarkshire, Scotland. The school was formed by the amalgamation of Elmwood Secondary, St. Saviour's High School and St. Catherine's. The school's catchment area includes Bellshill, Mossend, Viewpark, Birkenshaw, and parts of Uddingston. The feeder primary schools are Saint Gerard's, Sacred Heart, Holy Family, John Paul II and Saint John the Baptist.
Uddingston Grammar School
Uddingston Grammar School is the only high school in Uddingston, South Lanarkshire, Scotland. Its motto is 'Virtute Crescam' which means 'may I grow in moral excellence' The school was opened in August 1885. It was located by Uddingston railway station. In 2009 Uddingston Grammar moved to a new school building which was built on the old school playing fields, after a number of objections to the suitability of the site.
Viewpark
Viewpark is a small urban development north-east of Uddingston in North Lanarkshire, Scotland. Viewpark is adjacent to Tannochside, and is 2 kilometres west of Bellshill. Viewpark is often considered a district of Uddingston despite falling under the jurisdiction of a separate local authority. Viewpark was originally built to house miners and was erected quickly. The older houses were originally called the "olde Rows.
Bothwell Castle Cricket Ground
Bothwell Castle Cricket Ground is a cricket ground in Uddingston, Scotland, and is named after the nearby Bothwell Castle. The first recorded match held on the ground came in 1902 when Uddingston played a friendly against Gloucestershire. 110 years later the ground held its first List A match when Scotland played Glamorgan in the 2012 Clydesdale Bank 40. A further List A match was held there in that same competition, with Hampshire the visitors.
