Coatbridge
Coatbridge (Scots: Cotbrig or Coatbrig, Scottish Gaelic: Drochaid a' Chòta) is a town in North Lanarkshire, Scotland, about 10 miles east of Glasgow city centre, set in the central Lowlands. The town, with neighbouring Airdrie, is part of the Greater Glasgow urban area. While the earliest known settlement of the area dates back to the Stone Age era, the founding of the town can be traced to the 12th century when a Royal Charter was granted to the Monks of Newbattle Abbey by King Malcolm IV.
Whifflet
Whifflet is now a suburb of Coatbridge, Scotland, which once formed its own distinctive village. Presently located in the North Lanarkshire Council area it was originally known as wheat flats but over time the name appears to have developed into Whifflet. It is dominated by its main street Whifflet Street which has many shops including an old sweet shop Tommy Tangos, pubs and bookmakers and is towered over by the post-war built Calder flats.

Summerlee, Museum of Scottish Industrial Life
Summerlee, Museum of Scottish Industrial Life, formerly known as Summerlee Heritage Park is an award-winning industrial museum in Coatbridge, North Lanarkshire, Scotland. It was built on the site of the old Summerlee Ironworks and incorporated the main workshop of the former Hydrocon Crane factory. It temporarily closed in 2006, but reopened on 26 September 2008 following a £10m refurbishment (pictured right).
Coatbridge Library
Coatbridge Library is a public library in Coatbridge, North Lanarkshire, Scotland. The building was designed by Alexander Cullen and built in 1905. It is a Carnegie library; its construction was financed by money donated by the Scottish-American entrepreneur Andrew Carnegie. Carnegie officially opened the library on 7 June 1906 in person; he received the ceremonial freedom of burgh of Coatbridge in return. The building was category B listed by Historic Scotland in 1993.
Carnbroe
Carnbroe is a neighbourhood in Coatbridge, North Lanarkshire, Scotland. A former industrial village, Carnbroe is located southeast of Coatbridge and southwest of neighbouring Airdrie. It lies above a meander of the North Calder Water, which flows around it in a steep gorge. Once it was a collier village and large ironworks, the Calder Iron Works, were built there in 1838 immediately to the north on the opposite bank of the river. They closed in 1921 and the village grew to occupy that site.

Langloan Cricket Ground is a cricket ground in Coatbridge, Scotland. The first recorded match held on the ground came in 1860 when Colonel Buchanan's Scotland Team played Ireland. The ground held its first first-class match when Scotland played Ireland in 1980. The ground held a further first-class match n 1985 when Scotland played the touring Zimbabweans. The ground is still in use today by Drumpellier Cricket Club.
Coatbridge College
Coatbridge College is Scotland’s first College with over 145 years of history. The College has over 250 members of staff and is home to around 7,000 students. The College provides further education to the people of North Lanarkshire, in particular those who live in Coatbridge and Airdrie. The 1970s saw Coatbridge College move away from traditional heavy industries and it changed its focus to commerce.
